Hello All,

Need some advice. I am running windows 8.1, 64 bit. I have a 2TB WD drive setup as a dynamic disk and have it mirrored to another 2TB WD drive.

Basically, one drive is on a SATA 3 controller and the other drive is on a SATA 2 controller. I want to move the 2nd drive to the SATA 3 controller. I can see my volume, but the mirror is bad.

Should I break the mirror and reset it up? Or is there a better way to fix this?

I tried the reactive volume option in disk manager, but I get the Plex is missing error from windows.

Searching different results shows that I can break the mirror. I just don't want to loose any data. So not worth the Sata 3 controller.

Thanks All

Hard drives cannot saturate SATA III speeds, let alone SATA II. You will see no advantage moving over to a different port.

If you want to move for another reason then let us know and we can assist. Just know that there is no point moving to a higher speed port.
