Satellite 2805-S402 Thermal-paste!!

to everybody .
I had a Satellite 2805-S402 purchased in USA from a friend of mine with Win-ME and Bios v.1,4 I upgraded to Win-XP and Bios v.1,6 . Because
I had temperature problems I took it apart for a good clean up I notice
the thermal paste! there is not trace of it. I would like to ask to you :
if that is normal? and the min-max temperature of the CPU !in a hard-working
condition. So before I reassemble the Satellite I would like to know if
thi pc need a thermal paste.

Did it have gray foam pads instead? There is always some form of TIM it just comes in varying forms, thermal pads are more common when there is a large volume that they need to fill up.

Thanks for replay..........Yes it has a white foam pad glued to the cpu.
I must replace it or leave it as is?
