Save-As dialogue box freezes

I am using Windows 10 version 1511 (OS Build 10586.753). I'm facing a problem in the "Save as" dialog box. It freezes for 15-20 seconds in every software, be it Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft word, photoshop, etc.What must I do to resolve this issue?

I tried this as explained on this web page

sc config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
sc config mrxsmb20 start= disabled

It hasn't helped me yet.

Changing the name of the PC doesn't help either, neither changing the name of the workgroup.

Can you please confirm if your computer is connected to a network, and that you are facing the delays while saving the files on different PCs over the LAN?

If that's so, I would suggest you to check the DNS configuration of your local computer. Make sure that the Primary DNS server is the IP of your local router and not that of the ISP.

If it is the only computer you are suing and facing the problem, I would suggest you to Defrag Your PC (not needed if you are using an SSD).

Please let me know if your scenario is other than I assumed, and I will try to provide you with a different solution.

It's the only PC in my home for the last 12 years. It is not connected to any other network. It is just connected to the internet through LAN wire. Even if I switch off the internet, the problem occurs. I am using a solid state hard drive.

In that case, I would suggest you to try using any PC optimization tool such as Ccleaner or Ashampoo WinOptimizer and see if any of those help fix your problem.
