So I have a bcd/boot error and it was my start up SSD. I reinstalled Windows 10 on another SSD and it works great now. However, how can if its a hardware or software issue with the SSD? I tried opening the drive on two machines but it says can't read or just crashes explorer.

So i can't open it or format it. Unless there is some sort of software out there? It would be great if i can get into the drive and save some files before reformatting and using as a secondary drive.

I just don't understand if this is a hardware failure. I never even had a rotating disk fail me, let alone an SSD. Bad luck?

Just to update my thread. I used a dock to plug the drive into my Mac Book Pro, and the drive opens fine. I am backing up my data now. So does that rule out the SSD being dead itself? Must be a Windows corruption issue I guess.

From here I should be able to format it to fat 32 and then reformat in NTSF.
