I am doing a project for school and was wondering if it was possible to register a breath as a button press. To give context I am making a saxophone version of guitar hero and need the breath to register as a strum. Thanks.
Actually you should not even need any airfow or pressure sensors for air movement. The only reason a real sax uses air is to create the sound. Since you are going to be using nothing but electronics, all you need is the switches on the sax to adjust the notes.
Well anything could be possible, but you need to get the right components to make it work. Contact a company that makes various sensors and talk with them about what is needed.
While it should be possible to get a pressure/flow sensor to register a breath as a button press, I think a simple switch would be easier. Something you press on with your lips/mouth instead. More reliable and probably easier.
