Question SBC for Linux desktop replacement

Hello all,

I have a PI4 that I used for a Linux desktop for a few weeks last year. It just did not feel like it had quite enough substance for the task. Now I see the PI5 is on the way and it has me thinking -- Is there another SBC I should be looking at for a desktop replacement? Things I'm looking for:

1) low power required
2) NVME capable with full channel *
3) at least 8 gig ram
4) good horsepower
5) decent I/O and HDMI specs


Any thoughts and recommendations would be really appreciated.
