Question Scaling Issue, VA Panel quirk, or Other?

Text and images on my new ASUS TUF VG32VQ monitor seem surprisingly blurry and boxy given the 1440p resolution, and I'm trying to get to the bottom of why. Below are a few comparisons to another (admittedly more expensive) 1440p monitor that was on display at the store.

Here's the store display's taskbar up close - View: https://i.imgur.com/wzGq8gm.jpg

My search icon looks like it's made of disconnected dots rather than a solid line, my Cortana icon has very little "core" black circle and is mostly grey fuzz, and I seem to have an extra row of white pixels horizontally bisecting my Windows logo.

Here's a web page on the store display - View: https://i.imgur.com/rnlUnSV.jpg

The thin text on my display tends to fade in and out and even the larger text to the right looks boxy rather than rounded like the store display.

Is this a scaling issue that I can fix by adjusting my settings, something to do with my panel being VA rather than IPS, or just the way the pixels are laid out on my much cheaper monitor? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

That's apparently pretty standard on VA panels. I bought two Samsung CF390 Curved 27" recently, and had to take them back in for quality issues. Got the refund thankfully. IPS paenls are the best if you're looking for text and images, however, VAs are the best for gaming. Cheers.
