News Scalpers Flip RTX 40 Series Founders Edition GPUs For Fat Profits In China

The GeForce RTX 4080 Founders Edition is the least affected, exhibiting only an 11% increase over the official pricing.

The same thing happened last year in the US, UK and EU, for both the custom and FE variants. This was the least demanding card on the list, and the scalping price was also less.

Even then scalpers lowered the price of this card further, but still no one bought it. The heart of the problem was the RTX 4080’s value proposition, or rather, its lack thereof. Poor price/perf ratio more like.

The RTX 4080 was also about roughly $500 more expensive than it should be, compared to its increase in performance it offered (If we take the uplift of previous gen RTX 2080-to-3080-jump).

Then, in my country every trader is a scalper. Throwing 56pct onto the MSRPs is nothing for them.
For eg the cheapest RTX3050s are 300$ here , while an RTX4070 (non TI) is going for a price in between 740$
and 1000$.

My new favourite offer from them:
Not much before I have seen an ok-ish offer for a stronger office comp with i5-13500, mostly with decent parts, and ok-ish price. I thought throwing a vga of my liking into it, and I have an ok machine. Not much before I have checked on it again, and hahaha, they have changed the PSU in this config from an 500 Watts Chieftec gold, to an FSP SP300-A, while reducing the price a bit. It is a 250 watts PSU, what can take a 300W load for a very short while iirc. I consider pairing it with this i5 up a quite sick idea. They sell thse configs in a quanity, so they are somewhat fixed, pre-built ones, with limited options to change the config, like more RAM, or more disk capacity. But not with another PSU. For a good while they offered it with the Chieftec although. Such a decline.

Same here. Every time I see a video or recommendation on buying used hardware I sigh and skip because people are selling GPUs for either

- very close to full price years old gpu, which point you may as well fetch another 50 and get it new.
- at least full price + a bit of profit, which is just mindblowing. Yea let's buy this rando years old clogged up risky GPU for FULL PRICE NEW?!?!
- lastly the very special folks. Very special indeed when you see them selling GPUs for above full price new. Oh no no no, those are not offers from 2021...No comment.

I am done with both new and especially used GPUs. Got a new 3060 ti to replace 2060, heatsink of 3060 ti was absolutely 2x smaller. That thing overheated, min fan control 30% and spin like a jet. Immediately sent back. 2060 back in, no overheating, 0db.

Screw Nvidia and AMD, as well as each and every single used seller, selling (broken and functional) old damn hardware close to new price.

Back in the days, people were basically giving hardware away. There was an actual back and forth between both parties about this amazing field. Nowadays it's all about the money.
