Scanner in canon multifunction printer not working

I have a canon MP620 printer which works fine. The scanner has just stopped working and I get a message that the scanner driver is not installed even though it is installed.

remove and reinstall the driver

Unplug the USB cable, uninstall the driver, reinstall the driver follow the instruction. By the way is there any blinking error numbers display on the printer's screen? If yes please google the error code from Internet. Good luck!
