Scanning 35mm Slides w/HP5300C

Have 100's of 35mm color slides. Want to scan onto Iomega 100mb disks then print the best.
Bought a little HP 35mm slide adapter but scans at 1:1 size. Enlarging to 4x5" size with
any Photo Editor yields blocky pixels image. Saw a passing remark somewhere of a HP
"Lighted" 35mm adapter but cannot find the product for sale, even online HP store.

Seems like there should be a device to lay on my flat bed scanner, hold one slide, project
it on a frosted focal plane in 4x5 size so it could be scanned into my puter, then saved on
my Iomega disk, then certain ones printed on my HP PhotoSmart-1115 printer.

Any guidance is welcome.

Jim,

Even if you could find a transparency adapter, with an optical resolution of
only 1200 dpi the HP5300 won't give you a decent enlargement. You might be
better off to have them professionally scanned for pennies each or buy a
dedicated slide scanner.

The HP 5300c scans at a maximum optical resolution of 1200spi. For
reasonable quality 35mm scans you need at least twice that sampling
density and preferably more.

Any device you could add to your scanner to make it useable (if such a
thing exists) would probably cost more than a new scanner which would do
the job properly (e.g. Epson 2480, ~$100).

For upsampling (enlarging) prints, the best software out there is QImage
(ddisoftware.com). It can't work miracles but comes close!
