Ok..I have enetered all of my info for the airport, and the Lat..and
Long for the runways, and mag var,and all..but my runways are not
lining up for some reason.I have used MapQuest..and a few other
programs to get the data..but it seems using the Lat and Long from
different sources..they still are not lining up properly.I'm sure it
may be something I am not doing right.Does anyone, who uses this
program,have any suggestions?Any help appreciated.Thanks.

Hi,

I guess my question is: lining up with what? If you are talking about
lining up with the default (or other addon) scenery, then many of these
objects are placed using different databases with different lat/long
positions. So if you want to add your scenery to a scene, you'll have
to adjust your runways' locations so that it matches the existing stuff.
The connection with FSUIPC (showing a symbol at the location of your
plane in FS) is invaluable to be able to move your new SGX objects into
alignment with what's already there.

A background image would also be helpful. Create one by pressing Ctrl-S
in FS to go to Top View, press Y to go into slew mode, press the
spacebar to point North, zoom out and move your plane until the entire
area is visible, press Alt-Prt Scr to capture the image, and use Paste
in your favorite paint program (MS Paint will do). Then save it as a
BMP file. Then right click in SGX and Create a Background Image. The
Help files will tell you how to scale it, but I found I needed to tweak
it using the FSUIPC link to get it perfect.

Hope this helps,

Hey Tom...

Sorry for the long delay...been out of town.I was basically talking of
"lining up" Lat and Long wise..but your reply has put me right on the
money.I forgot about the overhead-zooming-slewing..worked very
well..thanks for pointing that out.
Lexington,Ky (KLEX)..isn't too difficult..it's just this time,I am
adding alot of objects and buildings and such,to a point, where if
you've flown in Lexington..you'll know right where you're at:)There
are several interesting places, such as Keeneland..,Ky Horse Park,
The castle on versailles road, and lots of other places as well.
Depending on how this goes,I thought about expanding, and doing
all of the Central and Northern parts of Kentucky as well.
Thanks again for your swift, and very helpful reply.

Regards,

Doug
