Schedule Backup Task Fails

I am running XP Pro SP2 (current) on a HP nx9010 Notebook.
Tried to schedule a backup job, and got error message:
"An error has occurred while attempting to set task account information.
The specific error is: 0x8007007a: The data area passed to a system call is
too small".
Went to MS Help&Support site and entered error code. Was advised to Stop,
then start service and wait 15 minutes for scavenger program to clean up. No
good. Tried again several times waiting 30 minutes each time.
Anyone solved this one already?

Thank you for advice. It doesn't work for me but it's my fault. Forgot to
say I have
IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519. Sorry I wasted your time.

Decided the silence meant my question had been answered. So I went to the
link and followed instructions but it turns out I do not have that registry
entry.

I have the same issue. None of the suggestion works so far. I don't have
that registery neither. Please help!
