This means that there are more Android devices activated every 3 days than there are Windows Phone devices total in the hands of consumers. Very impressive numbers.
Considering MS is paid licencing fees per Android device sold, while Google is not paid per OS licence sold, I am sure that MS don't really care who wins in the end, and it has to be depressing seeing that much of something sold that you are not instantly capitalizing on. Sure, they get their money in the end via the play store and data mining, but even if they got a $1 per activation I am sure they would be pretty happy campers.
