Additional Comments: I do understand the necessities of a video card for gaming. I plan to purchase one on a later date when money is not as heavy a restriction.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My current computer is shared amongst 3 people and was built in 2005. I am in need of an upgrade.

GPU: A nice HD 7850 would supplement that build.

Also if you are going to overclock in the future you'll want to invest in a CPU cooler. The Hyper 212 Plus is cheap yet efficient.

It's funny how I was looking at the exact same card earlier. I do plan to add that on in the near future .

If I do plan to overclock, will the mobo/other parts be able to handle it with the added cpu cooler you mentioned? Will all my parts be compatible with each other (with the added parts)?

Everything should fit nicely.

You may want to get the low profile Corsair Vengeance Ram as those heat spreaders may be slightly too big and come into contact with the CPU Cooler. Search for the low profile versions. It's the same thing without the tall heat spreaders.

The HD 7850 is a very good card even with high resolutions and should future-proof you for quite some time

The processor isn't that good at stock, but when overclocked gets faster than a Core i5, for what you're doing. (15% worse at stock and 15% faster when OC'd)
That's why i included a motherboard suited for overclocking.
It also has a high capacity, moderetly fast SSD, a good mid-range graphics card (more than good enough for casual gaming).
It also features a very good case and a high quality power supply.

Or if you don't need an external graphics card right now, go with this one instead.
