Question School me on eDP connectors/converters

I have been doing some looking into eDP connectors for the 30 and 40 pin display used on laptops. I commonly see converters that (for instance) go from HDMI to eDP used for testing or utilizing displays that utilize that connector for "other" purposes and such.

I would like to find a converter that will convert from the laptops eDP connector TO HDMI or DP.

I am not sure (yet) how I will bring the connector to the outside of the case for use but will likely be based on the hardware required to make it happen. If you have been following along you are aware of the broken laptop I got and converted to use without a screen. It mostly works fine, but every time it power cycles it will throw a BIOS warning that there is no screen, hit "C"ontinue. This becomes problematic from time to time with system updates that ask for restart. I envision either converting the signal for use of a standard monitor and/or if the laptop will see the converter as the screen and quit throwing BIOS warnings.

TIA
