They've all had foods/drinks named after them?

The Bing cherry, Col. Sander's secret recipe, the Mae West alcoholic
drink, and two others.

Well, if "Harlan" is a mistake for "Harland", then none of those is
the name they were born with. However, I don't think a spelling
error quite fits in with the rest. Sanders was also famously known
by the title Colonel when he wasn't really a colonel, but it was a
legitimate honorary title, so I guess we're going after something
else altogether.

Sorry about the typo ... Harlan Sanders got more Google hits than
Harland Sanders! You were on the right track - they all were honorary
Kentucky Colonels.

No I wasn't! It never occurred to me that any of the others might be.
