My dual-boot (2x Win 8.1 64x) has one DAW OS containing of 1 Samsung Pro SSD 256 GB, 1 Crucias MX 500GB SSD plus 2 Seagate 2 TB HDD's 7200 Rpm.

Now the 256 SDS is for OS/VST/programs only and the 500 GB SSD is for large samplelibraries from Kontakt.

Then I have 1 HDD 2TB for audio projects and 1 HDD 2TB for remanining stuff (old samples, sheetmuisc, disk images etc.)

Now I was wondering if I could better set my scratchdisk on 1st HDD for audio pojects or on the 2nd HDD where I store miscelanneous stuff. I think samples get loaded in RAM anayway, so the scratchdisk on that HDD seems more practical but I have read stories about people swearing to use the audio pojects disk ?!?

Btw, I. will first partition the designated HDD ofcourse, given the amount of RAM (16GB) I'd figure a logical volume of about 500 GB for sratching will suffice.

Also I will make sure the "scratch partition" will be near the centre/spindle of the HDD for eralier access.

Any words of wisdom?
