[SOLVED] Screen Blackout

Hi guys,

I recently built a new gaming rig and I have been having some issues with the screen blacking out. It happens only under a specific circumstance. If my computer has been idle or if I have been using it with limited GPU usage (work stuff), when I try to start a game— the screen goes black, then reappears, then goes black over and over. If I unplug and replug my monitor from the GPU, everything works fine and I have gamed for hours without an issue.

I am running a display port cable and have run three so far with the same issue. I have also reinstalled drivers etc. I have two separate cables running to the GPU from the PSU, so not a power delivery issue either.

Below are all hardware associated:
ASUS X570-Prime pro motherboard
AMD Ryzen 3700x CPU
Corsair Vengeance RAM @3200
EVGA 2070 Super Black GPU Corsair RM850X power supply
Sceptre C30 Ultrawide

I have scoured the web for a solution and I can’t come up with anything. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Solution
I have gone through three different ones with the same issue. Unplugging and replugging the DP cable is the only thing that will allow the game to run
Do you have another PSU ? or you can check the GPU power pin first, do they connected properly or not.
Just for make sure , because you have try reinstalling the driver, change the cable and the problem still occure, also some display issue caused by PSU.

Have you setting your game display resolution ? Sometimes than happen on me, but just for after installing new game because the game resolution on default and doesn't match my monitor resolution.
And also does your monitor display any notification ? When my monitor going black, they will show "display resolution not supported". I also I use display converter HDMI to VGA.

Yeah, I have game settings adjusted according to the spec of my monitor. I am also using GeForce Experience for optimized setting to match the GPU. It happens with every single game for some reason. It has totally stumped me...
