Screen blinking black intermittently

I just replaced my graphics card with a gtx 1080. Could you please help me figure out why it is occasionally blinking black. The drivers are correct and up to date.

This is my system info:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home
System Model Z97X-Gaming 5
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz, 4001 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

originally a win 7 or 8 rig? bumping up to win10 causes issues for some...

if your using non windows 10 drivers make sure they are installed using compatibility mode..... would be my first suggestion.

roll back to earlier version graphics drivers.
make sure you use motherboard site drivers.
