Screen blinking black intermittently

I just replaced my graphics card with a gtx 1080. Could you please help me figure out why it is occasionally blinking black. The drivers are correct and up to date.

originally a win 7 or 8 rig? bumping up to win10 causes issues for some...

if your using non windows 10 drivers make sure they are installed using compatibility mode..... would be my first suggestion.

roll back to earlier version graphics drivers.
make sure you use motherboard site drivers.

It was windows 7, but it was well over a year ago that I updated. I'm not using any non windows 10 drivers to my knowledge.

I'll check my motherboard drivers.
