Screen blinking on and off after installing a graphics card.

Hi.
I just installed a GTX 1050ti on my Acer aspire TC 780. It didn't have a graphics card before. I also switched out the PSU because the onboard one was only 240 watts.
It was working fine first.i installed the drivers and everything then rebooted and it still worked fine. Then after a while I switched off the PC and went out. When I came back it was blinking like that. It's blinking even in the bios menu.

If you stated that it was working fine after the change and then when you turned it off for a while it couldn't be restarted, it seems like a faulty PSU to me. Never ever go cheap on a Power Supply Unit and your best bet would be to reverse what you did, take out the graphics card and use the integrated one. Start it up, if its still faulty then switch out your PSU and check again. Good luck!

It was working fine before and after the change. And the PSU is an EVGA 500w 80+ white PSU. It's not exactly pricey because I bought the most recommended one for a budget build. I turned off the PC for a while and when I turned it on, the display kept flickering on and off. There was like a 2 sec interview between each flicker. And the system seemed to work fine because Windows loaded and logged on even with the flickering.

As for the status now, it seems fine since I removed the card n logged on using the onboard graphics slot. Then removed the driver and reinstalled the card.
I'm gonna keep it on trial for now since it seems to work. Will get back to you guys after some time of testing.

Okay so I was wrong. It is definitely not fixed, and I think I have found out the problem.
It stays okay after I switch to the onboard graphics for a bit and reinstall the card. Thats why I thought the drivers were the issue. But it happened again after I turned off the computer for a while. This time I didnt mess with the card or drivers. I unplugged the VGA cable from the monitor and re-plugged it.
I am using a hdmi to VGA adapter since my current monitor which is abt 2 years old, doesnt support HDMI or DVI. I know using an adapter is not the most efficient way. But I am using it till I buy a new monitor .. I am slowly working my way towards a custom build on a budget. So, I am leaving the monitor for last.

I am thinking the problem lies within the cable or the adapter.

The new Nvidia cards don't output analog, so a regular passive adapter won't work. You'll need an active adapter if you don't have one.
