Screen blinks black and GPU occasionally creates artifacts, need solution!

Hi guys, I just recently upgraded my computer with an Acer XB270HU and an Asus STRIX GTX 980 Ti. I've been using it for a little while now, and I've been repeatedly encountering a strange issue. My screen will relatively frequently wig out and flash black two to three times before returning to normal, occasionally, however, after it flashes black, the screen has an odd "ghosting" effect that's not really ghosting, more like everything's been very de-rezzed and shifted over one pixel. I don't think it's the monitor, (or, at least, not the panel) since I can turn the monitor off and on and the issue still persists, and the monitors menu interface isn't affected by the issue. A simple reboot has fixed the issue every time for me. I'm on the 359.06 WHQL driver set. I am also using Gsync with the maximum refresh rate set at 144Hz. Any help would be really appreciated! Thank you!

Is this what your screen will look like?

If so, your monitor is shot, I had roughly same issue as what is seen in this picture and after switching monitors the issue just disappeared.

I attached a photo of the distortion. Like I said, I don't think that it's the monitor, since I can turn the monitor on and off without resolving the issue, and the monitor's menu interface doesn't have that same effect, just the windows environment. The effect goes away as soon as I change the resolution or restart the computer.

Sorry about that I completely missed the image while I was reading your post, did you by chance ever try reinstalling your GPU drivers or using a slightly older one to see if the issue recreates itself?

No I have not yet, I'm actually installing the one that just got released today/yesterday and I'll see if that works. I'm gonna do a clean installation so hopefully it'll clear up.

For now that would be your best option, do as much as you can for free before you consider spending money on anything. Also, are you using any synthetic resolution? IE: the Asus Strix R9 390x will make a 1080p monitor a 1440p monitor through synthetic resolution scaling.

And another thing: I'm doubting that it does but does your system lock up at all after the issue happens? Was taking another look at the image and noticed that your screen looked extremely similar to my old AM2 socketed and GTX 780ti system when it started freaking out due to my overclock and PSU.
If it IS locking up at all, check your PSU asap, that was my issue on that system.
