Screen checkered then went blank

Never had a problem like this before- owned computer for 5 years and suddenly today it gained this momentary checkered pattern before just going blank. Left it to cool as well as checked connections, everything is as it should be however nothing- it doesn't even tell me there is no signal just nothing showing up at all.

Do you hear the 'Windows' sound to indicate that the pc is actually booting up? If so then its the display.

I do hear the beep and i checked with other displays and there was still no image and the display i was using works fine with other systems so it definitely isn't that.

Please list your systems specs with make and model#'s of the parts if you can.
If this is an intel cpu, then try attaching your display to the motherboards gpu port.
