Screen edges cut off, no TV menu option to fix

I'm trying to use my TV to display my desktop form my laptop but the edges are cut off the screen. My other tv has a setting to fix this but my new one doesnt(no dot for dot or oversscan option). Is there a way to fix this from the laptop end of things?
