Hi

I recently purchased an EVGA GTX760, and its great. Except when I play games, especially higher graphics games, I get a flickering screen. The flickers go horizontally down the screen, they're kinda faint, but still clearly noticeable sat in front of it.

Solution

Try turning on triple buffering in the Nvidia control panel.

Thanks for the response. I tried turning this on but it hasn't cured the problem, its made it a bit less noticeable, but it's still flickering.

Which games are you seeing the flickering specifically? It's recommended to turn Vsync on in in-game settings and not the Nvidia Control Panel (although some games have broken Vsync that's fixed by using Nvidia Control Panel settings). Turning Vsync on leads to another problem called stuttering - just FYI.

It seems to flicker on pretty much all games, GTA IV, L4D2, Just Cause 2 are the ones I've tried.

It flickers less with Vsync on in game, it just kinda sucks I can't really play games without Vsync on anymore. I could run games without Vsync on with my old GTX550ti and it would never have any kind of flickering issue.

I tried enabling triple filtering, but it makes no difference really, especially with vsync disabled.

Yeah I hate to say it but this is something that's nearly impossible to completely eliminate unless you have enough GPU power to stay above 60 fps all the time. I think you are interpreting stuttering due to bogging under load as flickering. Usually the word flickering refers to rapid changes in brightness.
