Screen Flickering When Changing RGB/Color Options in NVidia Control Panel

Hi everyone, I need some help with my display.

I recently made an upgrade to my PC and got an i5 6600k and GTX 1070, so I decided to try out some 4K games to see how it would handle it. I'm using my 4K TV, an LG 50UH5530, which claims to support HDR10. After enabling the Ultra Deep Color option on the TV, I went into NVidia Control Panel under the change resolution section to mess with the color options and found where I could set the output dynamic range from the default, limited 16-255 setting to the full 0-255 setting. When I applied the settings, the screen flickered some which I figured was normal and asked me to accept the changes, etc. So I played some Borderlands 2 (it looked amazing, btw) and noticed the screen would flicker every now and again, like a break in the video signal or something. I went back and messed around some more, trying out YCbCC444, 422, 420, 10 bpc, 12 bpc, and they all lead to a serious amount of screen flickering. It seems that the only stable setting is RGB with the limited range.

Is there any way to fix this? Or does my display just not support anything but limited RGB?

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps

Just got a 1060 card (my 770 had the HDMI 1.4 problem so no 4k 60hz without doing 420 and reduced blanking) I have the LG 65UH6030 and noticed the same thing, was flickering like crazy until I changed it to limited dynamic range. Kinda hoping it's a driver issue and some people said the had better luck with a bit older driver (I'm using the latest right now). I guess it does say limited is for most TVs just doesn't make sense when I can do 30hz with it fine or 1080p fine. Actually, I guess for a "Cheap" tv, I should be surprised it does all it can, most cop out and don't even do RGB or 444 etc @60hz.

PS. Last I read, All hdmi cables can do 2.0, it is just marketing hype to sell cables, like they do with printer cables and everything...

I'm using a high speed hdmi cable from amazon. It seems to support 4K fine so wouldn't that mean it is at least HDMI 2.0?

Are you sure it's HDMI 2.0? HDMI 1.4 can do 4K at frame rates up to 30 and would struggle with HDR content. Most TVs only display at 30Hz so you wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at it. HDMI 2.0 can do 4K60 and handles HDR content much better.

Bottom line: Older versions of HDMI support HDR, but HDMI 2.0 guarantees it.

Yeah, I'm pretty much positive its HDMI 2.0 because its able to display 4K@60fps. In Borderlands 2 I can tell its a smooth 60fps. Also in Battlefield 1, I hover around 50 fps and you can notice when the fps dips below about 40. If it were HDMI 1.4, I wouldn't be able to distinguish between the two because the TV wouldn't go over 30Hz/fps, right?

Correct. How much did this HDMI cable cost you?

Google it, first couple links I see are "4k cables are nonsense" and "There's no such thing as a HDMI 2.0 cable."
