Hi there!
I apoligize in advance for being such a newbie to everything that has to do with PC's and it's construction. I also want to apoligize in advance if this has been answered before (I havn't found any asked question discribing my problem PRECISE).
About one or two weeks ago, while playing CS:GO, my screen suddenly froze and wierd white pixels appeared. Just like this
as well as getting the message "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered" PS. photo taken from google, but I had the same problem.
I read alot about the problem and people said everything from "it's common, just upgrade drivers" to "add TdrDelay to regedit". What I did was EVERYTHING. Reinstalled drivers, added TdrDelay, changed PCI slot and blew dust out from the PC as well as remove the side in case of overheating. This fixed the problem temporarily but came back just today. I tried to repeat the steps I did last time but this time the GPU did not seem to register after reinstalling it. Instead my monitor now displays this
PS. don't know why imgur desided to turn image upside down.
My questions are following:
- Does this simply mean my GPU has died on me? (RIP you brave soldier)
- When buying a new GPU, will any GPU fit/work with my pc?
- Does anyone have any tips on what GPU to get? Would like it to be less than/around 200$.
PS. My current GPU I think was a Geforce GTX 580x or whatever is is called.. heh.
