Question Screen freezes but sounds still coming from background ?

I am having a very annoying issue where my PC keeps on crashing randomly and frequently and restarting is the only solution.
What happens is generally during full-screen applications like games the system stops responding but the sound keeps coming from the game/application. Even if I am on discord, I can chat but nothing else works. Alt+F4, Win+Tab, Ctrl+Shift+Dlt, Win+L you name it, nothing seems to do anything. I am only left with hard restarting my pc. I checked for temperatures but it doesn't seem to be an issue. I have updated all the drivers too. Please guide me through this. (Sorry for bad english).

Gigabyte A320M HD2
Ryzen 5 1400
Gtx 1060
16GB 2400 MHz

make sure you have updated the realtek sound driver.
old versions would respond to the DMA sound requests from the GPU sound driver and would corrupt the GPU sound driver stack and crash the GPU driver.

remove any gigabyte tools that deal with tweaking the video
best to not run any of these tools. avoid things like gameboost utility
or easy tune, or v tuner
