Screen freezes randomly when playing games, HELP!

So I completed my first ever PC build, and I noticed even when I'm not playing any games, my screen turns black for a second, then returns back to normal. This happens randomly, and sometimes this doesn't happen at all.

However, the first time ever I ran a game on this new PC, it was working fine for about 5 minutes, then the screen froze for about 3 seconds, I can ctrl alt tab, alt tab away from the game, then return to the game. I have tried uninstalling the drivers, restart, then install again. I would appreciate any kind of help! Thanks
Could the PSU be the root of my problems?

I have built 3 total computers in my time and I can say each time I have built one, its goes through some fits for about a week or less. Usually you just have to wait it out from my experience, like it varies from build to build, for my most recent 1080ti based build I was getting extremely long link loading times, even with a 7700k and an SSD, aswell as your aformentioned black screening. It generally just seems to be like a sort of "breaking in" for the computer. If it doesn't go back to normal after a bit, feel free to PM me and I will try and help some more

That's weird! My friends built one too and they haven't had problems like this I hope it'll get better soon! It has been 3 days though

Yea no idea personally I have had these issues you are quoting but they usually seem to sort them selves out. Good luck and message me after bout a week as a status update!
