Screen Freezes when Changing game resolution in full screen

I have only a few games that give me this problem, Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, resident evil 4 and resident evil revelations.

Whenever I change the resolution in full screen, the game freezes and gives me a still image of what I saw before the resolution change. Music still plays, but I cant get any sort of response without CTRL + ALT + DELETEing just to make the game refresh into the resolution I picked.

I'm on an Nvidia Geforce GTX 960m, and I noticed that when I try to change the res. while on intel graphics this problem does not persist, so It's gotta be something with my GPU.

Any help would be appreciated.

My specs are listed down below for any reference:

Nvidia Geforce GTX 960m
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ @ 2.60GHz
16GB Ram
Windows 10 Home Edition

Solution
As far as I know it depends on the drivers and optimization. Try updated drivers or even older versions and see if it changes anything.
You have nvidia optimus?
You might be getting interferance from one GPU to another. Can you turn OFF the integrated graphics for the games you are trying to run so it forces the 960m to be used ONLY?
There is a chance that when you are swapping resolutions, the integrated graphics takes over and fails to change to 960m again when its needed to.
