Hello community,
I've recently experienced many problems with my computer. Mostly, some random crashes or freezes that made me restart my PC in many occasions. I haven't got any clue in if those crashes happened more recurrently while playing some specific games. But has happened while playing PUBG, Age of Empires 2, Overwatch, and while just using Google Chrome aswell. Sometimes it could freeze forever (or it felt like that) or sometimes it was just for several seconds then it kept going normally like before the crash (it usually played the USB device connection/disconnection sound after the freeze went off).
Also sometimes happened that it didn't freeze but I couldn't interact properly with any program, for example, I couldn't talk with nor hear my friends in Discord, I couldn't close Chrome, nor any tab, and not even change tabs. Also just could change between programs but I couldn't close or minimize them, and also couldn't go to the desktop with Windows + D.
My PC specs at this time were:
AMD FX-6300 CPU
MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard
Intel 120GB SSD
Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition
2 x Kingston DDR3 4GB 1866MHz HyperX Fury Black
Spektra 500W Power Supply Unit
This Spektra PSU was kinda cheap when I bought it, and I doubt it can be considered good. But it was already some years old and I thought it might be good to change it.
Also I wanted to change my GPU for a better one.
So I bought a pack of a EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze PSU and a EVGA GTX1050Ti 4GB DDR5 GPU.
I changed these new parts for the old ones on my PC less than a week ago, and I feel satisfied with my purchase, but I still have some issues.
First of all, while playing Overwatch and PUBG I haven't got any issue so far, but while playing both the old Doom (the 1993 one, in Zandronum, a new source port) and the new Doom (the 2016 one) and in both I've got an error where the screen freezes but the sounds keep playing, like the music. Is not a full freeze like before with my old specs, because the sound keeps playing, and also I could press the Num Lock key on my keyboard and the light on the keyboard worked properly, unlike the older full freeze where it didn't turn on when I pressed the key.
I kinda get why I would have an issue with a modern and new game such as the 2016 Doom, but haven't got any problem with PUBG and Overwatch so far, and I have played many PUBG matches in a row, that means a lot of constant time playing PUBG, and in the case of the new Doom, the freeze happens after some few minutes playing. Has happened 4-5 times, and then I have to restart the PC. Last time I just pressed the shut down button of the PSU (maybe not the best of the restart options) and it even corrupted my save file.
Even more weird is the fact that happened while playing the old Doom, althought the source port is new and brings some new features, it's still not a big deal for a PC like mine, or shouldn't be, so well, I really don't know what happened.
I searched for this problem and found out that it may be my old AMD graphic drivers clashing with my new Nvidia graphic drivers, but I already uninstalled my old AMD graphic drivers and the issue still keeps going on.
Also, those errors where I couldn't interact properly with any program keeps happening with my new PC specs, or at least has happened once already.
Thanks!
