First of all, before I go into explaining the white pixel problem, I wanna tell you about problems I had even before this. It could be important information why I got this problem.
So I've bought a new computer. (Almost, only the HDD and RAM is still the same.)
I've installed everything and I'm ready to boot my computer up, It's starting as usual, goes through the motherboard picture and starting to load Windows. I come up to this part where the screen says "Welcome", and when It's supposed to switch to the desktop the screen becomes black.
No windows bar, no mouse pointer. The screen still gets a signal somehow since It's not being in idle mode. After a few minutes of waiting, I decide to reboot. Same result as before. I reboot once more and I decide to start Windows in Safe Mode. Where I actually could get to the desktop without any problems. So I thought the Graphics card maybe needed some drivers to work at all. So I installed drivers from the disk you got with the graphic card. I rebooted once more after that was done, but this time without safe mode. And surprisingly, I actually got to the desktop!
But as soon as I got in something looked suspicious. The computer started installing all the necessary stuff. (Such as Keyboard drivers, Mouse drivers etc.)
But the computer did not recognize my graphic card (Asus strix R9 390), instead it said something about "screen resolution (VGA compatible). So I let it install, then the computer wanted me to restart. Which I did. And guess what happened? I got back to square one, black screen after the welcoming sign at Windows. This is the point where I decide to switch it out the graphic card with the one I used before, a GTX 760. And this time it worked like a charm, I got to the desktop without no problems. So I uninstalled Nvidia and AMD's drivers. And then tried once more to install drivers from the CD-disk I got with the graphic card. Switched back to the R9 390 and this time, I actually made it to the desktop again, somehow... And now, I downloaded the drivers from AMD's website instead. But something was wrong here too. My computer told me the graphics card were a R9 200 series, which is not. It's a 300 series. So I start looking around trying to find the right drivers, I installed the correct one but it still said R9 200 series. So I uninstalled every single driver to the card; And downloaded their 15.7.1 driver. This time I actually got it working, it said R9 300 series and from that point I thought I got the drivers right now.
And now up to the White Pixel Stripes.
So as I thought I got the right drivers I started playing Team Fortress 2 with a friend, I got 10 minutes into the game when suddenly the screen goes black. I thought my game crashed at first but as we were talking through Skype the whole computer got stuck, only hearing a repeating sound. Example: "EEEEEEEE-". So I restarted the computer and tried once again to play Team Fortress 2. Which actually worked this time, I don't know why it crashed in the first place.
So now I switch game to Battlefield 4. Now is the time where I got my first encounter with the stripes. I maxed out all settings just to try out how good the graphic card actually was, and it runs smoothly, Around 80 frames, sometimes even higher. But, as further I got into playing the graphics card got warmer. And when it exceeded somewhere around 85 degrees celcius, white pixel stripes started showing up on numerous places on the screen, they wouldn't last long though. Only about a forth of a second. I tried to lower the graphics to see if the white Pixel Stripes would dissappear when the graphic card runs colder. And it did, they did not pop-up even once. Only when the graphic card exceeds 85 degrees.
At this point I thought once more the drivers were wrong, so I used AMD's AutoDetectUtility to get the right drivers, and it actually told me it was a R9 390 series. So I installed it to see if it would fix the white pixel stripes, but nope. It would not.
So I tried switching game to Battlefield Hardline just to be sure it wasn't only the game having problems. But the same thing happened, after exceeding 85 degrees the white pixel stripes starting popping up again. And now I'm sitting here, trying to fix the problem.
Some questions:
1. Does someone have the same issue?
2. If not, could the graphic card be half-broken?
3. Should I contact the store where I bought it from, and try get a new one?
4. Could this be fixed somehow?
The Specs:
i5 - 4690k (3.5Mhz, 3,9Mhz while using their inbuilt turbo-mode.)
MSI Z97s SLI Krait Edition Motherboard
Asus Strix R9 390
Corsair RM 750w Gold
HyperX DDR3 16gb RAM (Either 1333 or 1600 speed)
Sorry for the long post, but thanks in advance to everyone trying to help!
