Built a new computer about two months ago with Windows 10 and a Sapphire Radeon R9 390 graphics card. Everything was fine for 2 months but now every so often the monitor will go black, the fans will spin at max but the audio will continue. What's weird is that this only happens most frequently when I'm watching youtube and only once when playing graphically intensive games. I tried resetting my graphics card in the mobo to no avail. It's drivers are up to date so I'm at a loss.

Thanks for the help! unfortunately that didn't do it. I also tried disableing hardware acceleration in chrome and that didn't do it. Most recently it went black while sitting idle (I think it was in iTunes). I was going to try disassembling and reassembling it, but that sounds like a bit much. thoughts?

Hello again ronbo14

Did you try changing the power plan to something else, like High Performance? If doing so didn't work either, can you please the following: ?

> Right-click the Start button.

> Click Computer Management from the context menu.

> From the left pane of the Computer Management snap-in, click to select Device Manager.

> From the right pane, expand Monitors.

> Right-click Generic PnP Monitor and click Enable.

Save changes and restart.

Check if the issue is resolved this time.

Cheers!! :)

Thanks again, viveknayyar007
I actually figured it out. It wasn't a software problem at all. Apparently when assembled the computer a few months ago the graphics cards ports were not flush with the back of the case. So when I screwed everything in place it pulled on the back of the card causing to short whenever it suffered any sort of vibration. I bent the back panel of the case to that graphics card is flush and the screws perfectly line up and everything is peachy.

Thanks again for your help.
