Hi there,

I build myself a new computer in April. Now this week when I start my computer the screen stays black and the fans are spinning at 100% sometimes. I got a little scared and just shutdown the PC. Plug'd out the power cable and hit the start button to release al the remaining electricity. This seems to fix my problem temporarily.

Anyone know why this happens? I've read some other topics about updating the BIOS maybe. and some people posted its not always good to update your BIOS. So I'm a little stuck here.

My specs:

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 10586)
Motherboard: Z97 Extreme6
BIOS: BIOS Date: 09/15/14 14:18:19 Ver: 04.06.05
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Card name: 2 x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

Hmm, can't be my problem. My graphics driver is always up-to-date. ( NVIDIA drivers up to date, check)

Have you found the solution?
I have updated my driver to 398.36 then it started to happen. My friend told me to try underclocking the gpu because it may because of the PSU/mainboard that couldn't give GPU enough power. But that's just a temporary fix. I have no clue whether it's the driver or power issues
