screen goes black on full screen on second display

I have hooked my laptop up to my TV via HDMI to watch videos on a larger screen, it was working fine until i rebooted. Since then whenever i try to make a video full screen on 2nd display (TV) it goes black. it only seems to be on chrome, other browsers seem fine. chrome is up to date and so is flash. any ideas?

Actually, i've just tried EDGE and it won't work full screen on that either, black again. I works fine on my laptop. and if I start a video on fullscreen on my laptop and then connect the HDMI then it works. If i close it while on the second screen and open it again it will go blank.

I had the same issue when I connected to a Samsung 4k TV using HDMI, where it would go black and warn me the HDMI cable was not connected or an issue with the source device. I had to hard reboot the system.
There are new flash player beta releases and I installed all three and it fixed the problem. It happened in Chrome and Waterfox.

There are of course other things, like the length of the HDMI cable, quality and condition of the cable.

I appreciate the answer, but I should explain that I have a new TV, it was working fine, then my Laptop rebooted and then the problem started. I've tried installing the update but it hasn't worked. I have no idea what else to try.

You could try enabling Hardware Acceleration in flash player settings to see if that is a fix.

try a system restore to before the problem started as maybe a windows update caused this problem.

i've looked into the hardware acceleration but i can't find any option to change it on windows 10. i think the reboot was because the charger wasn't plugged in, i can't find any updates on the windows website recently. it was literally after the reboot that the issue started

To enable or disable Hardware acceleration in flash player
Go to the Adobe Flash Player Help page.
Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.
