Hello,

I have an LG LED monitor, an EVGA GTX 780 Ti (I use an hdmi cable for the display), a Corsair CX750M power supply, and a Microlab FC-361 speaker set. The amplifier for the speakers is next to my monitor. Whenever I turn on the amplifier, the screen goes totally black, but the monitor stays on; and I can still hear sounds or use Alt+F4 or Windows+Right Arrow + Enter to shutdown my computer. The display doesn't come back until I restart the computer. It happens about 60-70% of the time; and it sometimes happens when I turn off the amplifier as well. The amplifier, the monitor and the computer are all plugged into an extension cord with 6 sockets. The cord is connected to the wall via a surge protector. I don't know which part makes the problem, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
It might be a interference from the amplifier to the soundcard, my computer have a very short period "no signal" on the monitor sometimes when I switch my Hivi speaker. You can measure this if you have an oscilloscope.

Solution
Unfortunately, I don't have an oscilloscope but I will try turning on the speakers when the input cable is not plugged to the back of the computer.

Good, please also let me know what happen, thank you.

The screen did not go black when I turned on the speakers with the cable unplugged, however it annoys me to do this everytime. Is there anything I can do like buy a new cable to solve this permanently?

I don't think a new cable will help since this problem is inside the AMP, I just avoid to switch the speaker power when the computer is on, if I don't want to use it, I turn the volume all the way down.
