Hey guys!

While playing path of exile/overwatch im getting random black screen so i have to restart my pc.. On path of exile it happens much faster than in overwatch. When the black screen thing is triggered, the gpu fans are running. Im 100% sure its not a overheat/power problem. I have tried to update to the latest gpu driver, even tried with an older one from January, thinking that it will be more stable. My pc specs are:
Ryzen 5 2600
16gb ram
AMD RX 580 8gb
Mother board Aorus B450 Pro Wifi

Help please? ;-;

Have you updated Windows to the latest version? When you reinstalled the graphics drivers, did you perform a clean installation?
I dont have the latest version of Windows because it always fails when it tries to install the newest update.
What do u mean a clean installation? I just clicked update and install from the gpu panel.

A clean installation would remove previous drivers from the system, in case something were to cause conflicts. When I used Windows, I use to manually instll the drivers from AMD's website, where there was an option to perform a clean installation after a reboot when running the file.

As for Windows updates, it's better to keep updated as it plays a part in the operation of certain device drivers. What version of Windows are you using?

Well, ive downloaded the updates from AMD site.
My windows version is: 1803 x64-based Systems (KB4537762)
That version of Windows has reach its end of life since November of last year. I understand you were having problems previously in the updating process but may I ask when was the last time you installed an update for it.

Ive tried to press END when the pc turn on and it brings me to Q-Flash but when i try to press update it says to select the file from a path folder which i dont know where it is.

Did you install the updates on a flashdrive and then use that feature?

I used to have this issue with a GTX 970, the black screen would occur after a few minutes, if the GPU usage was low, but the core clock was running at max. I believe it's a hardware issue, my blackscreen issue stopped when I upgraded to a RTX 2060. Can I ask if it gives you a black screen if you're playing an entirely GPU bottlenecked game?

On a side note, I doubt you have an alternative gpu to swap out to diagnose the GPU itself?

Well i dont have a lower gpu so i cant test by myself, nor a friend with a gpu. Also, i ve found out that in path of exile(where the black screen appears faster than in overwatch) if i press B before pressing the button to open a map it black screens instantly so i have to hold the power button to shut it down.
Also, when it is in black screen and i press caps lock button the led is not turning on. (keyboard being plugged in to the pc)
I have checked event viewer and i will send shortly what info i get about this "Critical" error, event viewer calls it.

Okay, I used to have the exact same issue when opening the map on skyrim, it sounds exactly the same, I never think event viewer gave me much as I'm not very IT literate, so apologies, my only suggestion would be for you to plug your gpu into someones elses machine, under the same parameters to see if the error occurs? (take it into an IT shop maybe) or get your hands on another GPU and plug it into your system. Neither convenient unfortnuately, can I ask you install heaven benchmark and tell me if that passes a test run? My faulty GTX 970 always passed, because it never crashed under full utilisation, as previously mentioned the fault lied when the card wasn't at 100% but the stock clocks were maxed out.

If you don't have heaven benchmark here's a link: https://benchmark.unigine.com/heaven

I can only recommend taking it to a specialist shop, other than that, I'm not entirely sure. Also bare in mind, I obviously could be wrong and it may not be a hardware issue.

Regardless, all the best, any other questions feel free to ask
