[SOLVED] Screen goes dead

Just curious if anyone has had a similar issue and found a solution. This only started happening last night, but when I've got a game open my screen will randomly go either white, brown, or black. There will be faint vertical lines across the entire screen. All apps that are open (i.e. discord) will stop responding and eventually nothing responds. The screen stays as it is until I forcibly shut the computer off with the power button. Sorry if this is an easy solution, I'm definitely not tech savvy...
