Screen goes in and out

Hello everyone,

I just got a "new graphics card" off ebay in the form of the r9 290 trix and recently i have been noticing that my screen will go blank and then the image will pop back in.Is there a way to distinguish whether or not this is my card or my monitor. Monitoir is old and looks to have a line running thorugh it http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2e1vimo&s=8#.U7QFePldXUc

I ask because i still have time to try and resolve the issue. THe sound doesn't go away either

Unfortunately, your pic-link is blocked at work, so I can't see what we're working with there. However, the first step to trouble-shooting monitor/GFX card issues is to eliminate variables. Does your motherboard have any monitor hookups? (It used to always be "yes," but not all MOBOs do anymore...)

If so, remove the GFX card, hook up to there and give it a test run to see if the blanking issue still happens.

No sadly it does not but the issue seems to have stopped but i still want to try to determine if there is a fault
