I had an issue with my computer sometimes booting to a black screen, and sometimes going black when i'd clik on a link forcing me to do a hard reboot.
I went thru everything i could think of, changing HDMI cable, testing GPU, read every thread on the web, nothing seemed to help - i even sent my GPU back into Zotac and they returned it saying testing showed no issues.
I re-installed it, and somehow the trip to zotac seemed to have cleared the issue, as i saw no black screens for about 2 months. Now in the past week or so, when i clik to open a program, or clik on a link on the web, the screen goes black for anywhere from .5 to 4 seconds, but at least comes back.
It's got me wondering, this all started about the time of the Spectre & Meltdown news - and i'm suspecting possibly the Bios upgrade and microsoft updates are somehow related to this
