Screen is 'stretched' (windows 7)

the screen is stretched, i tried going in screen resolutions but there is no recommended option and the highest (1024 x 768) is still stretched. I tried looking for updates for my graphics driver in windows updates but there is no updates. i have intel (r) hd graphics.

What motherboard and cpu?

Intel & microsoft have conspired to stop win 7 being used on 7 & 8 gen cpus as no integrated graphics driver is available

You probably need to get the graphics device driver from Asus not Microsoft or Intel.
Laptop graphics device drivers are often specific to the make, model and screen

i installed something called 'driver easy' and updated the intel driver and it worked. thanks
