So my friend just built a new pc.
He has a Fx 8350, MSI R9 280 and a corsair cx 600.

So he was having a problem when he played games the screen just got lines and it just stopped working after playing for 10-15minutes, computer was still working but the screen was all blue and has lines.
Now after adding +8% power limit in the MSI afterburner the crashing seems to have stopped but games wont start, they are just not responding.
the os is windows 8.1

EDIT: The temps are just fine

It is a 64bit system.
The games that won't start are Guild wars 2, The Forest, Terraria, Audio surf ( They all played well yesterday )

He installed AVG and he did do the AVG tuneup thingy and I think that might be the cause of this.

So thats it, please avoid auto maintenance feature from third party program. Sometimes it will wipe out important file from your system. Only use windows maintenance feature, or if he advance user do manual cleaning & maintenance.

For the game try to reinstalling it, turn off/disable AVG before start installation process. Then launch the game & see if the problem was resolved.

The game is original version ?

The games are original and I think it might have deleted something from the windows files because the games start sometimes like if you try to launch it, it will probably launch the 10th or 20th time you click on it but it will stll not respond and crash after a while.

EDIT: The forest and Guild wars 2 dont star no matter what, reinstalling the games didnt help.

If he do constant back up, try to revert the windows to the date before problem happening at first time using windows recovery, if still some error i think nothing better than do fresh windows installation and new game install then try to play.
If the problem caused by windows file has deleted, so should be no problem anymore after new install of windows.
