Screen keeps turning on and off for no reason

So I bought a new laptop recently and it was all working fine.
At one point the laptop screen started turning on and off. It does this about 3-4 times for 10 seconds, then it stops for about 5-10 minutes and does it again. Some times more often.

I searched through the internet and everything was about flickering screen but mine isn't like that.
I can use it properly, it is working fine. When I play games it doesn't do it at all.

I have a Nvidia Geforce gtx 960m video card. The laptop came with Intel HD graphics driver installed and the nvidia driver installed too.
Also for some reason most games tend to use the intel driver and not the nvidia one. I played Metro last light and when i uninstalled the intel driver and tried to run the game, it gave me an error that I dont have a video card driver. Also the PCSX2 emulator used the processor video card and not the nvidia for some odd reason.

I uninstalled all drivers and only left the Microsoft basic display adapter which seemed to not have the problem. I reinstalled all drivers but the problem continued. How can I fix this?

Ok so it isnt the drivers maybe.

I figured out that while it is charging the screen is blinking, however, when it is on battery the laptop is working absolutely perfectly(the blinking is gone)
What is the reason for this?
