I have a P4-3ghz that is not overclocked and works very well normally.
When I play SIM2 after several minutes the video/picture looses sync
and goes like venetian blinds. I have tried various options in the
properties section and compatablity modes. I have tried setting it to
256 colors, 640 x 480 mode but it still goes apeshit.

A friend of mine has the same pc configuration and same brand and his
computer does exactly the same.
The card is a Radeon 9600 in the device manager it is shown as
"YUAN RADEON 9600" and I normally use it with a BENQ 17" TFT screen
running at 1280 x 1024 max colors mode.

Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated. If you think I may
need a patch from Electron Arts can you possibly publish a URL as I
have looked at their web site and not found what I want.

I have a PowerColor Radeon 9600Pro and I have never seen this. I do,
however, remember somebody mentioning it earlier. I _think_ it was solved by
updating drivers - but I really suggest that you try looking on the official
webpage for known problems as they would have a more step-by-step cure (if
this is one of the problems they have recognised)
