screen not full

I have installed windows 8 but the problem is its not showing full screen on the lcd.

AMD Graphics card by any chance? Is the screen compressed in so it has a black border around windows (unused LCD border)?

I too have this same problem when i connected my monitor with my new R7 250 graphic card via HDMI.

Open the CCC and look for overscan. Drag the bar to change the size of the screen.

I think that will do it.

Right click> screen resolution

yes did it and worked well..but when i press the default button it again goes back to previous positiion.does overscaling to zero affects the image quality??

No. You shouldn't use overscan. Using it would affect image quality.

But u previously said to change overscan inorder to get full screen..If it gets affect the image quality then any other settings left to solve this prob??Actually is it a normal thing or any other factors due to incompatibility of the hardwares or anythng like that??

Overscan to fit your screen is the right thing to do.

Overscan too much and you are now changing the quality.
Overscan too little (underscan) and you are going to see black borders on all 4 sides.

Sliding the overscan to 0 only fully filled the monitor screen.So what to do???

I actually asked is their any way to make fit the monitor screen without overscaning to zero,because overscan effects the visual quality.
