Sup,

I want to start making youtube videos of BF3. I tried fraps but get frame drop of 20+ ( No fraps= 65-85)(Fraps=25-45)
I have a GTX 650( I know it suks) running high preset at 720p and a AMD fx6100.

Thank you

(P.S if i get a working one...youtube.com/dodidoFPS

MSI Afterburner

It gives you on screen display if you want of VRAM usage, core usage, fan speeds, temp. Also can do screenshots, tons of different quality options for recording.
And it's free.

But any program you use will most likely give you a framerate drop. When I play bf3 normally I never drop below 60 on all ultra. When recording with Afterburner it will occasionally drop to 50s sometimes 40s with big explosions and so forth on b2k maps.

Elgato Game Capture HD is pretty impressive but its a little pricey, the hardware encoder takes most of the overhead off (except for disk i-o and even that can be delt with if you have a second PC or laptop connected up for just capture work).

Screen capturing software requires massive CPU power. You can't expect not to drop frames if you have anything less than i7 3930K since they compress on the fly (and fraps does it less so than the others).
Stick to fraps, lower your in-game resolution to 720p. You'll be surprised by the results (less CPU strain resulting in lower FPS drop; smaller files resulting in lower FPS drop in the captured video itself caused by HDD not being able to write at the speed of the video's bitrate constantly for extended periods of time)

Edit:
Ooops, seems like I missed the part where you said you're already at 720p. Try to assign 4 threads to the game and 2 to fraps by setting CPU affinity in the task manager.

False, fraps uses low compression codec (FPS1) which compresses in roughly 1:2,5 compared to RAW YV12.
I just tested this out in MOH Warfighter (uses Frostbite2 engine just like BF3 does) myself and here are the results:
Resolution: 1680x1050
CPU usage ----- fps
menu 31%
fraps30 45%
fraps60 53%

ingame 46% ----- 60
fraps30 62% ----- 30 - frame lock function doesn't seem to work with MOH/Windows 8; I drop to 30fps with and without it
fraps60 69% ----- 60
I captured the video to RAID0. Settings were tweaked to as high as possible while retaining 60fps at most times. My specs are listed in signature.

P.S. Just went to test it out with ultra settings and I got 40fps, 61% CPU w/o fraps and 39fps, 69% CPU w/ fraps. Unfortunately I don't have a 1080p monitor to see if I can bottleneck my CPU but I'm pretty sure a stock fx6100 is alot slower than mine (57,5 Gflops in intel burn test; stock FX-8150 goes up to 63Gflops)
