Question Screen stays black after switching graphics cards

Hi ,my pc turns on fans spin no image.
Cleared the cmos,disabled the driver.

I went from generic built in to a cooler master with 700watt the one i had had 450 watt.

The power light doesn't come on but i bumped into that and that could be it.

It does run with the old card and the new supply.

Am i missing anything can anyone help me troubleshoot this ?

May be the new graphics card needs additional power direct from the PSU?
Check to see if new card has any 6-pin or 8-pin connectors on it - - - if it has you need to connect appropriate 6-pin or 8-pin power cable to it from the PSU.

I did .
it needs an 8 pin.

Are you referring to the power light on the non-working graphics card?

No ,the on off switch light.
It switches on fine though.

Could be a faulty graphics card --- if bought new get it exchanged under warranty.
