screen stops getting signal (battlefield 4)

Whenever I play BF4 my screen goes black, my sound screeches for a second (usualy listening to music), I can't do anything with the pc (besides turning it off by holding the power button) but the pc stays on for some reason. I'm quite certain that it's only with BF4, I've tested it out with some other demanding games (far cry 4 for example) but i didn't have any problems with those other games so whatever it is I don't think that it's a hardware issieu, if someone knows what it is please help me out here, i'd love to play some BF4 again 😉

update: a friend of mine wanted to play TF2 and it happened there as well about 5 min in.

I'm now running bf4 on a variation from high to ultra so i'll try if it helps to set them to mid or even low.

i tried mid but it still gave up on me, fyi i run an r9 290 so i'll say it again i really don't think it's a hardware isseu.

i seen they have a spring update for the game and did you check gpu temp when you play it .

no I dind't check it but I don't think thats it either considering it happened in a not very demanding game like TF2 just five minutes is or so.

i fixed it by using mantle instead of dx11
