I've been getting Screen tearing in pretty much every game i play and not sure why I've changed almost all my parts out for new ones and it still persists i'm starting to run out of ideas to what might be causing it. I dont really want to use vsync because of the input lag in gives my mouse which is very annoying when playing fps games does anyone know what might be causing it or any workarounds thanks.

Specs
GPU: Msi gtx 1070ti
CPU: i7 7700k
RAM: Corsair vengeance ddr4 16gb
MOBO: Asus z270g
PSU: CX600
Monitor: Acer GN246HL 144hz

I'm running my monitor at 1920 x 1080 and the refresh rate is at 144hz with DVI

have you tried switching to HDMI or to DVI? no difference? if you are not going to use v-sync coz u dont want to suffer from input lag. you have to get a HFR monitor which you do have. now the only problem left is the display cable you are using. to get the most out of your monitors 144. you ahve to use only these. dual link DVI-D. DisplayPort cable. HDMI 1.3 or higher. and make sure its connected to your GPU.

The only Cable i have right now is a DVI-D Which is connected to my GPU My monitor doesn't support DisplayPort cables unfortunately is there any other cables i could use that might help?

the only other cable is only the HDMI 1.3 and above.
does your DVI look like this?

well then the last option is to try to tweak your ingames graphic settings so it wont produce FPS higher than 144. you can increase them settings so as not to over your monitors refresh rate. get my drift? causes of screen tearing is simply "overflow/underflow of frames". you can put some setting to ultra. or increase your antialias.

no i dont think so. its not worth it. dvi-d is usually more capable than the hdmi cables. if your monitor had a DP port well yah. thats better. try the suggestion on my previously updated post. about increase your ingame graphic settings. you can also increase resolution more than 1080p which will reduce FPS as well. if you have a FPS counter to keep tabs on how much you are lowering your FPS then it should be okay.

well this is what we have to go thru for not paying the extra bucks for those over priced gsync monitors. i always stayed away from them too. 😀 also check on your monitors features. most of the HFR monitors have their "own gsync". like switching to "FPS mode" or "lowering the over drive (OD)" od values or turning it off entirely.
