Screen Tearing - VSync and Multisampling On?

Hello everyone!

So after a long time of not playing GRID 2, I decided to open it up again today. I've been playing Minecraft and Battlefield 2 with NO issues, but GRID 2 is plagued by horrible tearing where horizontal lines show up all over the place. I've never had this issue before, but the last time I played I was on Windows 8.1.

I've enabled and disabled multisampling and VSync, and nothing is fixing it. I noticed that my GPU is running a bit hot, it hit a max of 75C.

Here's my build:

Intel i5-4590
ASUS H87I-Plus
MSi R9 270 Gaming
Windows 10 10130

Thanks for the help in advance :)

Multisampling has nothing to do with tearing. V-sync will fix it, if it works. If the game doesn't support it, forcing it on won't always work. If the game supports it, and you are using the in game settings, then either you are not having tearing, or the setting is broken. It is possible you have other issues that look similar to tearing. If you could video it, it might help shed some light.

VSync is on, and the tears are straight. I would think it could be a bug in the AMD Windows 10 display driver but Minecraft and BF2 are perfect.

All within the in game menu. I'll take a look at the CCC settings though.

BTW the video is now HD if you want to take a second look.

On second look, those tears don't look perfectly horizontal... hmmm

It looks pretty horizontal to me, assuming the camera was tilted a bit. You can see the circles were off set, which suggests you had the camera tilted. What I was talking about was how the line was jagged a bit, but that is likely a result of aliasing and compression.

Yeah, they're horizontal, just looked at it again.

I have CCC set to override game settings. CCC is set to VSync on and the game is set to VSync on... I'll toy with it.

I'll leave the thread open and not choose a solution yet to see if anyone else chimes in; but thank you.
