Screen tearing while playing video games

I just don't know why, when I play video games screen begins to tear and its really annoying, any help ?


Monitor:Asus VP274T
GPU: Gtx 1070 Fe
CPU: Intel i7 6700

PLUS: when I exit a video game everything begins to get normal again

games I played on are like Mirrors edge, a story about my uncle....ETC

Turn on vsync or use another frame limiter to limit the FPS to 60. You are likely pushing behold 60fps on a 60Hz monitor which will cause screen tearing.

90% of my games don't have vsync, how can I use a frame limiter?

You can enable it globally or for specific programs in the nvidia control panel in the 3d settings options.

Vertical sync, I would try adaptive mode first.

Dvi, I checked on it and it is tightly connected, bought my gaming pc rig yesterday

Possibly a problem with the monitor. Can you try another?

I cant refund the monitor and checked all options, ill just live with it until I save enough money for a gaming monitor, and use this monitor as a editing monitor , Thanks for your help !

I owe you so much m8, today I opened the pc to see NO screen tearing at all, I didn't think I needed to restart for it to work, thx!

You are most welcome. I have do the same thing with my 60Hz ultra wide monitor , anything over 60 fps and it tears horribly.
